Adult Heels

Heels is influenced by jazz, ballroom, and latin with a sprinkle of sensuality, with teacher Georgia bringing her contemporary flair to add to the mix. Expect to improve balance and coordination, boost confidence, and unleash your inner drama queen!

The class starts with a cardio-based warm-up (think Jamie Lee Curtis and John Travolta) followed by heels basics and foundations and finally a short choreography focusing on musicality, dynamics and performance.

Who’s it with?

Georgia Rowan (She/They) is a dance artist and massage therapist based in Sheffield, graduating from Iwanson International in Munich and the London School of Contemporary Dance. She teaches weekly contemporary/floorwork classes in Sheffield and has performed in and choreographed for dance and immersive theatre, live orchestral works and site specific projects. Being a very “serious” contemporary dancer she discovered an uncharacteristic love for heels and has been obsessed ever since. For Georgia, dancing in heels creates an alter ego which has enabled them to find confidence and freedom in their queer identity, she hopes to share the sexy yet technical joy of heels with others, creating space for all identity expressions.
