Partnerwork

What's the class?

This class will draw on elements of contact improvisation and contemporary partnerwork. There will be a combination of improvisational scores, playful exercises and technical training. This class is ‘open level’ meaning that no matter your experience this class will be suitable for you, whether you’re a total beginner or you’ve been flying around people’s shoulders for years.

Expect to learn new skills, and dance in connection to others.

The nature of partner work and contact improvisation means that we have to pay particular attention to consent and boundaries within the class, guidelines are available to read beforehand and boundaries will be explained at the beginning of the class. We are determined that this will be a safe space for everyone to be in contact with another body without fear of transgression.

Who's it with?

Bryn Thomas & Guests

Bryn has been practicing for the last 15 years and has delivered workshops internationally since 2015, dancing with and learning from Nita Little, Charlie Morrissey, Jovair Longo, Vega Lukkonen, and many others. Bryn is particularly interested in the technical aspects of contact, delving into the mechanics of what occurs when bodies meet. He draws on his experience as a contemporary dancer and general movement nerd to help dancers to understand the beauty of contact improvisation and have fun while doing it!

Partnerwork will see a rotation of different teachers including Bryn Thomas, Lewys Holt, Alexia Kalogianidis, Yuma Sylla and more.
